Trans*(Gender) Awareness Courses and Workshops

TransForum and Unique has been working together for 15 years (Feb 2002-2017) with a very wide range of organisations to greatly increase understanding and awareness about trans* issues, to improve equality and engagement for Trans people and to help service providers meet the everyday needs of trans* people and to fulfil their Statutory Equality Duties. (2010 Equality Act)

Our training sessions, provided by experienced and knowledgeable Trans* people are tailored to your organisations specific needs and have been provided to over 100 organisations with more than 500 courses and workshops for a very diverse range of organisations from the Public, Private and Third Sectors.

Courses are constructed to appeal to all levels of staff and are designed to inform and increase confidence and respect in interacting with all Trans and Gender Variant people. Attendees are introduced to key topics explaining Trans* peoples identities, communities and lives, the legal duties and encouraged to ask questions throughout the sessions.

The sessions provide best practice guidance and legal information through audio / visual presentation, workshops, group activities and presentation of real-life scenarios and exercises appropriate to the organisation(s) being trained. Feedback shows that participants leave our training courses far better equipped to engage with Trans* people respectfully, appropriately and confidently and better able to understand their needs in supplying services and support and in meeting their Equality Duty.

If you require Trans* awareness & equality training, we will build a training session according to your organisations specific needs. Courses can be a half or full day session, and we would like to inform you that at least a two hour session is needed to provide a basic understanding of the topic & the diversity of the Trans community.
