The Beaumont Society 
The longest established transgendered support group in the UK - working with the transgender, transvestite , transsexual and cross-dressing community since 1966.

A voluntary organisation offering confidential and non-judgemental advice, information and support to all family members, spouses, partners and friends of transsexual people in the UK.


Encompass is the new LGBT group for the North Wales and Cheshire area. It usually meets on the first Wednesday of every month at the Citizen's Advice Bureau Community Cafe in Connah's Quay.

Gender Identity Research & Education Society (GIRES)

The UK's Foremost source of information about all issues surrounding gender identity and transsexualism, and a resource for gender dysphoric people and their families; the medical and other professionals that provide their care; Health Authorities; Members of Parliament and other policy makers.

Gender Matters (formerly Trans-Shropshire)
Unfortunately Gender Matters is now closed, but still has useful information on the website

Gender Matters used to cover the West Midlands and all bordering regions, and provided information and support to all trans people, their family, friends and to professional organisations who wish to have better understanding of Gender Dysphoria or Transgender Issues.

Intrust Merseyside

Providing support and guidance for men and women with an intersex or transgendered history in Merseyside.
Positively promoting best practice around employing people from this community.
Working with both voluntary and public sector organisations to identify the barriers to employment and service delivery faced by this community

Manchester Concord

A transgender social group that meets every Wednesday evening in Manchester as a venue for transgendered people and their partners. A group has been meeting as part of the Northern Concord in various venues around the Manchester Village since 1986.

Help and support for young trans people in the Manchester area.

Northern Concord

For many years the premier group in Northern England, Northern Concord no longer holds regular meetings but hosts Le Big En weekend once a year and issues the monthly Cross Talk magazine.

Older & Out – Age Concern Central Lancashire

Older & Out provides a range of services for the older Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) community. Services include a helpline, 1 to 1 befriending service, regular social group meetings, local events and activities along with a variety of volunteering opportunities.

Our LGBT social group ‘Older & Out Preston’ meet every 1st and 3rd Thursday of the month, 6.30pm – 8.30pm at Disability Equality 103-104 Church Street, PR1 3BS.

Our LGBT social group ‘Older & Out Chorley’ meet every 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month, 6pm – 8pm at Homestart, 112A Market Street, PR7 2SL (Fleet Street Car park entrance).

The social groups take place in bright safe spaces where - as LGBT people - they can be themselves and socialise free from discrimination. Although primarily aimed at LGBT people 50+ the social group is welcoming to LGBT people and ‘straight allies’ of all ages (30+) and act as an alternative to the ‘Pub & Club’ scene.
Older & Out also provide free older LGBT awareness training to care providers working with older people in Lancashire

Outskirts - Birmingham's Social Support Group

The largest social support group in the West Midlands. Meeting on the 1st and 3rd Monday of the month at the Victoria Theatre Bar. Full details and information, links, gallery, location maps and event news are on our regularly updated web site.


INTERNATIONAL TV REPARTEE is the magazine for all who cross-dress - published by Rose’s, the largest membership group for transgendered people in the UK.

Unique TG Network - North Wales & West Cheshire

UNIQUE is a voluntary social and mutual support group for all Transgender people in North Wales and West Cheshire. It is the largest trans Group in Wales.
Their web site offers information about who they are and what they do to support the TG community, their regular monthly meetings, social events (including the twice yearly Transgender Weekends) in Llandudno, together with listings of Transgender resources and links to other local and national Transgender Organisations.

TransForum Manchester and Unique work closely together to help support the wider Transgender community and to gain acceptance of all Transgender people in the wider public community.
